ARE ADELAIDE HATTERS A REAL SHOP OR JUST AN INTERNET SITE?
We are situated in beautiful heritage listed Adelaide Arcade, Adelaide in South Australia where we have been selling hats from our retail premises for over 20 years. We are the largest specialty retail hat shop in Australia.

ARE THE PRODUCTS ON THIS SITE GENUINE?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves in offering the very best to you. A substitute or copy just isn’t good enough.

AKUBRA HATS – WHY DO SOME TAKE 3 MONTHS?
On our site, Akubra hats have been divided into 2 categories – “Available NOW” and “THREE months”. “Available NOW” are those hats that are amongst Akubra’s best sellers, therefore we have guaranteed supply, or they are from the extensive range that we stock as part of the Adelaide Hatters collection. “THREE Months” are those hats that we do not carry as a stock line. Akubra are constantly manufacturing their best sellers, but for the slower moving styles such as these listed here, Akubra gather orders over 10 – 12 weeks to ensure they have enough to fill a production run. While this means that you will have to wait about 3 months for your hat, but it will be well worth the wait.

CUSTOMS AND DUTIES – WHO PAYS THEM?
Import duties/taxes charged by Customs are the responsibility of the purchaser. To help avoid charges we clearly mark “Personal – not for resale”, but this does not always guarantee that they wont be imposed. For detailed information contact your local Customs Department. Small orders are very often delivered without duties/tax charges, however this is not guaranteed. CROCODILE PRODUCTS – DO THEY REQUIRE A PERMIT?
Permits are compulsory when posting Crocodile products overseas. Wild Crocodiles are a protected species, and permits are not available to poachers. This enables the Department of Environment to protect our wildlife. Please note that permits are not required when posting within Australia.

PACKAGING AND POSTING.
We package everything appropriately to ensure that it arrives intact. Your hat will arrive in a ‘new’ condition’. We do not charge a handling or admin fee, and insurance is included in the postage fee.

WHAT IF YOU ARE OUT OF STOCK OF AN ITEM?
If we are out of stock or unable to post within 2-3 days we will notify you and advise the expected date of dispatch. We will always email you to confirm the goods are in transit.
